Please be aware that there is a man posing as a representative of the Fishtown Athletic Club going door to door collecting donations for the local AC. This man is in no way associated with the Club and is only collecting money as a scam. If he approaches your door, do what you are most comfortable with. I do not advocate taking matters into your own hands, but in any case I would suggest calling 911 and reporting him being as descriptive as possible. This man has been perpetrating this scam for several years now and many people have been swindled out of a lot of money in total. Please be the eyes and ears of Fishtown to stop this activity.
The Fishtown Athletic Club is a wonderful program providing activities for our neighborhood youth; teaching them leadership, teamwork as well as self respect and pride. The only door to door findraising is a coin drive as a group of uniformed children will be accompanied by their coach.
