FNA Beautification committee will be sponsoring a Container garden competition beginning May 15th! It is free to submit an entry. City Planter, Greensgrow Farms, New Kensington Community Development Center, and other garden centers are sponsoring the event by giving $50 gift certificates to the finalists. The rules are simple…The owner of the container garden must live in Fishtown [FNA Boundaries as defined by the by-laws are as follows: Delaware River to Laurel Street, Laurel to Front Street, Front to Norris Street, Norris to Trenton Avenue, Trenton to Frankford Avenue, Frankford to York Street, York to the Delaware River]. The container must be at least the size of a window box and no bigger than a bath tub. There are 2 divisions – “Window Box” Gardeners and “Container / Street Planter” Gardeners – with a 1st and 2nd place prize being awarded in each division.
